ISRAEL -   Jewish Heritage with Eilat (14  Days)

Day 1: Arrival Israel 

You will arrive Ben Gurion Airport and will be met by a Isratour representative, who will assist you with your luggage, escort you through customs and introduce you to your Guide. You will be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for check-in.

• visit to the Independence Hall where the establishment of the state of Israel was declared

Continue to visit Ayalon Institute, once an ammunition factory for the Hagana, the underground movement before May 1948. 

Overnight in Tel-Aviv. 

Day 2: Tel Aviv

 

Breakfast at Hotel

• Drive around the main streets of Tel Aviv, center of business and entertainment of Israel. 
• Rabin's Square, where the assassination of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin took place. 
• Visit Old Jaffa , an 8000 year old port city ; Visit the ancient ruins and walk along the restored artist's quarter.
• Tour Neve Tzedek, the first neighborhood of Tel Aviv, built in 1909 and Nahalat Benyamin, the pedestrian street of the city with its musicians, hand made jewellery and artifacts. 
• Wlking tour to White city of Tel Aviv the lively and colorful street especially known for the unique shops, café life and youthful ambiance. 

Overnight in Tel-Aviv. 

Day 3: Caesarea / Haifa / Acre / Rosh Hanikra

Breakfast, and check-out 

• Drive north to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders' city, the aqueduct and the amphitheater which has been restored as a concert venue.
• Proceed to Haifa for a panoramic view from Mt. Carmel of the Baha'i Gardens.
• Drive to Acre; walk along the old harbor and local market ; 
• Continue to the northernmost point of Israel at Rosh Hanikra. 
• Descend by cable into the limestone Grottoes. 
• Continue towards the Upper Galilee area and check-in to your kibbutz. 

Dinner and overnight at Kibbutz .

Day 4: Golan Heights

Breakfast at Hotel

• After breakfast, you will drive to visit the Golan hights.
• Stop at Tel Facher, a former syrian army camp.
• Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin. 
• Stop at Golan Winery for a tour and wine tasting.

Dinner and overnight at Kibbutz

 

Day 5: Safed, Tel Hai Banias and Metula

Breakfast at Hotel

• Drive to Safed, center of Kaballa movement; Visit the JOSEPH CARO and the HA’ ARI synagogues, the most important synagogues in the city; stroll around the Artist’s quarter. 
• Visit the Banias springs and hike to Banias ruins. 
• Next, a visit to Tel-Hai ; See the “Roaring Lion” monument and learn about the heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920 . 
• Visit the first Alia town of Metula.

Dinner and overnight at Kibbutz 

Day 6: Beit Shean / Beit Alpha / Gan Hashlosha / Jerusalem 

Breakfast, and check-out

• Drive to Tiberias to visit Rambam’s grave.
• Proceed to Beit Shean, also called "Scythopolis", archaeological park with beautiful excavations from Roman and Byzantine periods.
• Onto Gan Hashlosha, (Sachne) where you will have an opportunity to enjoy the water springs located at the foot of the Gilboa mountain. 
• Continue south through the lush Jordan Valley where the dessert now blooms with flowers and vegetation of every description (Isaiah 35:1-2).
• Stop at Mount Scopus for a blessing as you enter the city.
• Check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day 7: The Old City of Jerusalem

Breakfast at Hotel

• Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem from Mount of Olives. 
• Visit of the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion. 
• Walk along the Cardo, walk through the Roman Str., to the local Arab bazaar..
• Visit the four Sepharadic synagogues restored after 1967 war in the Jewish quarter. 
• Tour the Kotel Tunnels.
• Visit the City of David and Davidson center.
• Walk through Jaffa gate to Newly Mamila st.
• Enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8: The New City - Jerusalem

Breakfast at Hotel

• Mea Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra orthodox communities. 
• Drive by the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and see the Menorah with the biblical emblems. 
• Visit Museum, the Shrine of the book where the Dead sea scrolls are housed , and the Second Temple model – a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period.
• Drive to mount Hertzel , the military cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust . 
• Enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day 9: Massada and the Dead Sea area

Early breakfast and Checkout your Hotel 

• Depart to the Dead Sea area. 
• Traveling south through the Judean Wilderness, as you descend to the lowest point on the surface of the earth at 1300 feet below sea level. 
• Visit Qumeran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. 
• Drive south along the shores of the Dead Sea to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Massada, ascend by cable car to the top of Massada and explore the ancient fortress. Here, was the last stronghold of the Jewish freedom fighter in their struggle against the Romans. 
• Continue to the Dead Sea; Cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and experience a swim in the Dead Sea that many believe has its therapeutic effects. 
• You will Check in to your hotel in the Dead sea for overnight.
• Enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day 10: Journey to Eilat the Negev Desert , Timna and Eilat 

Check out your Hotel.

After breakfast, 

• Travel south to the Negev desert. 
• Continue south, visiting kibbutz Sde Boker, to see Ben Gurion’s hut and grave. 
• Take a Hike to Ein Shivta.
• Drive to Timna to see the copper mines and King Solomon’s pillars and marvel at the huge multi-colored rock formations proceed to Eilat.

Day 11: Day In Eilat

Breakfast at Hotel

• Day in Eilat and stop to visit the underwater observatory. one of the largest Seaquariums in the world, built into a coral reef. 
• the afternoon take a leisure trip on a Yachet on the Red Sea.
• Lunch on the Yachat.

Overnight in Eilat.

Day 12: At leisure or Optional tour to Petra (Optional +450$)

• You will have the option to relax at the hotel and the Red Sea or Join the Petra excursion (additional cost). After visa proceedings at the Jordanian Border,
• You will drive straight to Petra through desert highways. Your ultimate destination is the astonishing rose-red city of Petra which was built by the Nabateans (an early Arab tribe). Petra was renowned for its massive architectures, pools, dams and water channels. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans who settled in the South of Jordan more than 2000 years ago.
• The visit begins with the possibility of a short horseback ride, about 700m, until the entrance of the Siq, which is about 1.2 Km long (walking distance). There is also a possibility to rent a chariot (extra) to get inside Petra and back to the gate outside. Petra is famous for its huge monuments such as The Treasury, Royal Tombs, the Court, Roman Theater, Roman Street, Qassier Rl-Bint (Palace of Pharaoh's daughter) and many other smaller monuments which fascinate visitors. The city itself is almost 45 Square Km and is considered to be the second wonder of the world.
• After the visit, enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant, followed by a drive back to the border. En route, stop for a short visit in Aqaba, with possibility for a short walk in the town.
• Transfer to border at approximately 18:00 for crossing to Eilat.

Day 13: Eilat to Tel Aviv

Check out your Hotel.

After breakfast

• Depart Eilat via Mitzpe Ramon to gaze into the Ramon crater, a geological wonder. 
• Proceed to Shivta. 
• Stop at a Genesis Land for a camel riding safari experience and a visit to an authentic Abraham tent. 
• Far well Dinner at Abraham Tent.

Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure.
